Care guide

The Original is built to get sandy, smoky and covered in dog hair, then go straight in the wash. Here's how to keep it soft and warm for years.

Washing

  1. Do up the snaps and the pocket zip so nothing catches in the drum.
  2. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild liquid detergent.
  3. Skip the fabric softener and the bleach. Softener flattens the quilting and bleach fades the colour.
  4. Wash dark colours on their own the first time. Coal, Cocoa and Olive can lose a little dye in their first wash.

Drying

  • Line dry in the shade. Strong sun fades colour over time.
  • Give it a shake when it's half dry to fluff the fill back up.
  • Make sure it's fully dry before you pack it into its bag.

Out and about

  • Sand: let it dry, then give it a good shake before it goes back in the car.
  • Dog hair: a lint roller between washes does the job.
  • Campfires: sit back a step from the fire. It's polyester, so keep it away from open flames, embers and heaters.
  • No ironing and no dry cleaning.

The care label sewn into your poncho always has the final word.
